Our 19th annual school visit and board meeting was a great success! Thank you to everyone who came from around the world to help us celebrate the school and our students. In Siem Reap, we had our annual in-person board meeting and we visited a training restaurant and social enterprise called HAVEN that creates new life prospects for disadvantaged young adults, teaching them valuable work and life skills. On Thursday, we went to campus to participate in the top student awards and celebrate the close of the school year. There was dancing and a few speeches, and we were proud to recognize our principal Dara Pei for more than 17 years of loyal service to the school and present him with a certificate and cash bonus.
The board ate lunch with the teachers in our new cafeteria space and took a campus tour, seeing the new computer lab, kitchen and additional 600 square meters of expansion land we purchased adjacent to campus. We ended the day with a 40-person celebration dinner for our faculty at Bou Souphorn restaurant in Sisophon. The next day, we went back to campus at 7:00 a.m. to participate in the students’ dance and exercise, which happens every Friday.
