Special Events: Creating Joy and Lasting Memories
Special events are an important part of life at The Cambodia Academy. They bring joy to the school year, reward students for their effort, and create experiences that many of our children would not otherwise have. Our older students look forward to annual pizza and smoothie field trips where they can practice their English in a real-world setting. Students and teachers alike look forward to our annual kite festival, which gives everyone them a chance to relax, play, and simply enjoy our brief spell of cooler weather each January. Our Khmer New Year celebration is one of the biggest events of the year, bringing the entire campus together to celebrate Cambodian culture, tradition, and community.
We also create meaningful opportunities for students to connect with their heritage and celebrate their achievements. Each year, our students take an annual study trip to Angkor Wat, Cambodia’s most important cultural icon, helping them deepen their understanding of the country’s history and feel proud of their heritage. Since 2024, Santa Claus has also been an annual visitor to campus, bringing joy, presents, and a special Christmas meal for the students, along with ice cream and festive celebration.
These events create lasting memories and remind our children that school can be not only a place of learning, but also a place of happiness, pride, and belonging.
